I have had in the past with other employers, and recently
have gotten again, Blue Shield Dental insurance as the provider for my
family's dental insurance needs. In the past I have been very pleased with
the service and prompt payment that they have made to my dentist,
orthodontist and oral surgeon. This saves me time and sanity. As the
mother of four children not having to worry about whether or not my
dentist is being paid is a huge time and energy saver. I do not have to
deal with the dentist office calling me or sending me letters about past
due payments that should have been paid by the insurance company. I have
had this issue with other providers or having payment denied for one
reason or another that should not have happened.
I am currently and have in the past been pleased with the variety of
services that Blue Shield Dental insurance has and is covering for my
family. My plan includes a check up, x-rays and a cleaning every six
months as recommended by my dentist, not only for my spouse and me but for
our four children as well. If we had to pay for even a portion of these
services out of pocket it would be a small fortune and may not get done as
often as it is recommended. Another financial blessing for my family is
that Blue Shield Dental insurance will also be covering a large portion of
the oral surgery that my spouse will be undergoing in the coming month. He
is going to be getting his wisdom teeth removed. When we first seen the
cost we were astonished at the cost. However, even with the deductible we
will be paying less then 25% of the original quote.
I am also happy that they have such a large number of participants in
their program. In the past with other dental providers I have either had
to go out of network or pay out of pocket because the dentist that I have
been going to for years is not in their network. I am happy to say that
this is and has not been the case with Blue Shield Dental insurance. The
dentist I have been using is in network as are the recommendations that he
has made for oral surgeons and orthodontists. All in all my experience
with Blue Shield Dental insurance has been very positive and would
recommend them to anyone looking for coverage.
